Chrome Extension Privacy Disclosures (IGGrowth)
This section covers the "Best Organic Growth & Auto Follow Tool" Chrome extension, also referred to as IGGrowth (Item ID eggdbehenjijmhlbiedecgkehgeilemo), and complies with Google's Chrome Web Store User Data Policy. The general policy further below applies to our websites.
A. What We Collect
Authentication and passwords (important). This extension does not ask for, collect, see, store, or transmit any password, including your Google password, your Instagram password, or any other account password. Sign-in is performed entirely through Google OAuth via Chrome's built-in identity API, which returns only an authentication token, your email address, and your Google account ID (OpenID) — passwords never pass through the extension at any point. All Instagram actions rely on the instagram.com session that you have already logged into in your own browser; the extension does not perform an Instagram login, does not display an Instagram login form, and has no way to read your Instagram credentials.
Instagram data you extract stays on your computer. When you extract a follower list, a following list, likers, commenters, or the accounts behind a hashtag or location, those results are kept inside the extension's local browser storage (chrome.storage.local and the browser's IndexedDB) and are read only from the instagram.com session already running in your browser. They are never transmitted to ConvertInsight servers or to any third party. When you click Export, the CSV file is generated in your browser and saved directly to your own computer; no copy passes through us.
The categories of user data the extension actually collects are listed below. Categories not listed are not collected.
- Publicly visible Instagram profile data you choose to extract (local-only). For each account in a list you extract, the extension may record the username, display name, biography, category, follower count, following count, post count, profile picture URL, verified and private flags, and the friendship status between that account and your own account. This is the same information Instagram already shows you in the page; the extension only collects it into a list for you. It is stored on your device and never sent to us.
- Follow and unfollow task history (local-only). For each account the extension follows or unfollows on your instruction, it records the account, the result of the action, and the date, so you can review and undo your own activity. Stored only on your device.
- Username lists you upload (local-only). If you upload a CSV of usernames to run a custom task, the file is parsed inside your browser. It is never uploaded to us or to any third party.
- Two instagram.com cookies, read locally. The extension reads only the
ds_user_id cookie (your own Instagram numeric account ID) and the csrftoken cookie from instagram.com. Both are required to call Instagram's own interfaces from within your logged-in session. They are used only to build those requests inside your browser and are never transmitted to ConvertInsight or to any third party. The extension does not read your Instagram session cookie and does not read cookies from any other website.
- Google account email and account ID (only if you sign in). Obtained via Google OAuth through Chrome's
identity API. Used to create and identify your extension account and to track your usage quota. No password is received or stored at this step — only the OAuth token, email, and account ID.
- One first-party marketing cookie on our own domain (only if you sign in). If you reached us through one of our own campaign links, a
cid attribution value is set as a first-party cookie on converts.cc. After you sign in, that value is sent to our backend together with your account ID so we can tell which campaign a sign-up came from. It contains no Instagram data and no personal information beyond the campaign identifier.
- Usage metadata. Extension version, install event, and your remaining free daily quota. Contains no extracted lists, no Instagram account data, and no credentials.
- Subscription metadata (only if you start or manage a paid subscription). Your selected plan, extension version, product name, and ConvertInsight account ID, used to initiate a checkout or billing-portal session.
We explicitly do NOT collect:
- Passwords — not your Google password, not your Instagram password, not any other password or login credential.
- Personally identifiable information beyond the email and Google account ID listed above (e.g. no name, address, phone number, or date of birth is required by the extension itself).
- Authenticator app codes, recovery codes, security questions, or any other authentication factor.
- Health information, financial information (the extension never sees your card details — see section D), precise location, or device sensor data.
- Browsing history, cookies from other websites, or data from websites other than instagram.com and our own domains.
- Instagram direct messages, private conversations, or any content from accounts you cannot already see while logged in — this extension does not read your inbox.
- Keystrokes, form input, or page content from any site other than the Instagram pages the extension is operating on.
B. How It's Handled
- Extraction and follow actions run locally. The extension's content script runs inside the instagram.com tab you already have open and calls Instagram's own interfaces (for example
/api/v1/friendships/, /api/v1/media/, and /graphql/query/) using your existing session. Results flow from that page into chrome.storage.local and IndexedDB on your device. The extension makes no independent data-collection API call of its own, and your extracted lists are never sent to ConvertInsight or to any other server.
- Follow and unfollow actions are triggered only by you. They run through Instagram's own endpoints from your session, at the pacing you configure, and the extension keeps a local record of each action so you can review it.
- Authentication uses tokens, not passwords. Sign-in is handled by Google OAuth through Chrome's
identity API. The extension only ever receives an OAuth token plus your email and Google account ID — your Google password is entered into Google's own sign-in page and is never visible to or handled by the extension. The extension also never prompts for, intercepts, or stores your Instagram password or any other credential.
- Account info is transmitted only for authentication and billing. Your email, Google account ID, and session token are sent over HTTPS to
https://iggrowthapi.convertinsight.com/parse to sign you in, look up your Pro status, and manage your quota.
- Profile pictures are loaded through an image proxy. Instagram's image CDN blocks direct display inside the extension, so avatar images are requested through our proxy at
cdn.converts.workers.dev. The proxy receives the public Instagram image URL in order to fetch and return the picture. It receives no account list, no credentials, and no personal information about you, and we do not store the images.
C. Where It's Stored
- Extracted lists, task history, and uploaded username files — stored only in
chrome.storage.local and IndexedDB on your own device. ConvertInsight keeps no copy. Clearing the extension's data or uninstalling the extension removes them.
- Exported CSV files — written directly to your own computer by your browser's download mechanism. We never receive them.
chrome.storage.local (on your device) — also holds your session token, daily quota counters, and UI preferences. The session token is sent to our authentication backend over HTTPS with sign-in and account requests (this is how authenticated sessions work); the quota counters and UI preferences stay on your device.
- ConvertInsight authentication backend (Parse server at
iggrowthapi.convertinsight.com, hosted in the United States) — your email, Google account ID, install event, campaign attribution value, and subscription/quota status. No extracted lists, no follow/unfollow history, no Instagram cookies, and no Instagram account data of any kind are ever stored on our servers.
D. How It's Shared
- Google OAuth — standard sign-in handshake; Google receives the OAuth request and returns your email and account ID to the extension.
- ConvertInsight authentication backend (
iggrowthapi.convertinsight.com) — receives your email, Google account ID, and session token for authentication and quota management.
- ConvertInsight image proxy (
cdn.converts.workers.dev) — receives the public Instagram URL of a profile picture in order to display that picture inside the extension. No personal data and no account lists are sent.
- ConvertInsight extension recommendation service (
social-tools.converts.workers.dev) — returns a list of our other extensions for the in-app recommendation section. No personal data is sent.
- Subscription and payment providers (Paddle and Stripe) — receive your account ID, selected plan, extension version, and product name to initiate checkout or manage your subscription. Payment card details are handled by the payment provider under their own privacy policy and are never seen or stored by ConvertInsight.
- We do NOT sell or rent user data, and we do not share user data with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing partners.
- We do NOT share your extracted lists, task history, or Instagram data with any third party — that data is processed locally and never transmitted off your device.
- We do NOT use or transfer user data for any purpose unrelated to the extension's single purpose, and we do not use it to build or improve credit-scoring, advertising, or machine-learning models.
- We may disclose limited account information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ConvertInsight or its users (see section 3 below).
E. Retention and Deletion
- Data on your device — kept until you delete it. You can clear extracted lists and task history from within the extension, or remove everything at once by uninstalling the extension or clearing its site data in Chrome.
- Account records on our backend — your email, Google account ID, and subscription status are kept while your account is active. Email
support[at]convlead.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data, and we will delete it.
For extension-related privacy questions or data-deletion requests, email support[at]convlead.com.
